Christie Projectors Part of Largest 3-D Cinema Deployment in the World
67% of REAL D Worldwide Installations use Christie DLP Cinema� Projectors
Christie, a global leader in visual solutions for business, entertainment and industry, announced that 460 screens worldwide now feature Christie CP2000 projectors ready to show REAL D content. These installations were timed to coincide with the weekend release of Disney’s animated feature, “Meet the Robinsons”. Previously, Christie and REAL D teamed up for another animated feature, Columbia Pictures’ “Monster House”. Disney’s “Chicken Little” in 3D was also shown using Christie DLP Cinema projectors.
Due to the ground-breaking work of Access Integrated Technologies, Inc. (“AccessIT”) (NASDAQ: AIXD) the world’s first and largest deployment program for Digital Cinema, 2,343 screens are installed and currently presenting digital feature films from major Hollywood studios. With the installation of REAL D systems, today 220 AccessIT deployments at Carmike Cinemas, Cinema West and Rave Motion Pictures feature REAL D installations using Christie projectors.
Christie 2K DLP Cinema� projectors are also used as part of REAL D’s latest installation agreements with Regal Entertainment Group (NYSE:RGC), AMC Entertainment Inc., Cinemark, National Amusements and other exhibitors. The agreements nearly triple REAL D’s global footprint to more than 680 screens and significantly strengthen Christie’s growing leadership in Digital Cinema.
