Picturehouse Entertainment's Gracie Screens Digitally on Qube Cinema
Gracie, distributed by Picturehouse Entertainment, a joint venture of HBO and New Line Cinema, was screened at ShoWest 2007 on Qube Cinema - the comprehensive, flexible and highly cost effective suite of end to end digital cinema solutions offered by Qube Cinema Inc., the US subsidiary of India-based technology company Real Image Media Technologies Pvt. Ltd. This digital screening was part of the ShoWest showcase: "An Evening of Independent Films."
The digital cinema package of this movie was created in the DCI JPEG2000 format with QubeMaster and presented on the Qube XP-D cinema server, at Cinemark's Century Orleans 18 theatre in Las Vegas.
The Elisabeth Shue-starrer, loosely based on a real-life chapter from the actress's childhood, is directed by Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth) and also stars Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend's Wedding).
Set in 1978, Gracie is the story of a sixteen-year-old girl, who, after a family tragedy changed her life, fought for and won the right for girls everywhere to play competitive soccer.
"Qube Cinema provided a JPEG2000 digital play out for our screening of Gracie at ShoWest and we were extremely satisfied with their top-notch service and quality presentation," said Molly Albright, Vice President of Creative Advertising at Picturehouse Entertainment.
